Barbara J. Alder graduated from Hanover College (BA, Business Administration) and Indiana University (MS, Business Administration). She served in the Admissions and Financial Aid offices at Hanover for three years. In 1980 she began a 26-year career in the telecommunications industry with GTE in Terre Haute IN. Moving through positions of increasing responsibility in internal audit, network and customer service operations, metrics and performance reporting, municipal affairs, and regulatory planning and strategy with GTE, she served in the Fort Wayne, Westfield, and Irving, TX offices. She was appointed to the Regulatory Compliance Office at the formation of Verizon Communications in 2000 and was named Director of Regulatory Compliance in the Arlington, VA office in 2004. Following her early retirement from Verizon in 2006, Alder returned home to central Indiana and served as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Madison County, Inc. for several months in 2008. She is currently Director of Purdue University's College of Technology for Anderson/Muncie. Her areas of expertise include legal and regulatory compliance, supervision and staff development, and marketing.



Jim Alexander graduated from General Motors Institute in Flint, MI. with Degrees in business and industrial engineering. Jim has worked in various capacities but spent the last 20 years as a steel puchasing agent. He retired from General Motors after 40 years and went to work for a steel slitting company in Elwood, IN. as general manager for 9 years. He has done accounting work and been treasurer of a church, Masonic Lodge,and condominium associations. His areas of expertise include purchasing, production control and planning, management and accounting. Jim is the current Vice Chairman of SCORE Chapter 519.



Bob Anders graduated from Villanova University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He spent the first sixteen years of his career in product engineering roles at Square D and Eaton Corporation where he designed, developed and provided field support for mechanical and electromechanical products for the industrial and heavy truck marketplaces. He then moved into Quality/Product Assurance and Plant Management roles for eleven years before becoming Director of North American Operations for TRW's Engine Components Division. Bob spent the last five years of his career as the Chief Operating Officer of Guide Corporation. His areas of expertise include product design and development, problem solving, scrap reduction, concepts of continuous improvement and high quality manufacturing.



D. Douglas Barron received a Bachelor Mechanical Engineering from General Motors Institute and a Master of Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic. He has Thirty-six years of engineering and management work experience at Delco Remy and Delphi in the following areas: process Engineering, materials, foreman, general foreman and operations manager in manufacturing, advance engineering, product engineering and Battery Business Product Team leader. He had international business experience with the Delphi battery business in Europe, Japan, Korea and Brazil. He was a Licensed Professional Engineer in Indiana for 28 years and is currently a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers serving on the Automotive Battery Standards committee. His areas of expertise include engineering and manufacturing management, organization and planning, and materials and process engineering.



C. Richard (Dick) Brown spent 33 years employed by Delco Remy Div of General Motors, and Delphi Automotive, over 22 years of that as General Supervisor for the Engineering Department overseeing engineering records and electronic data systems, including the global online viewing system for all engineering and tooling drawings. In addition, he works with local county government in the area of Emergency Management. (Disaster Preparedness). He is currently employed full time as the Executive Director of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. He also serves on the State Governor's Commission for Hazardous Materials. (Indiana Emergency Response Commission) and as the chairman of the Training Committee. He is currently Vice President of the Emergency Management Alliance of Indiana and Chairman of the Bylaws Committee. He serves on the State's Indiana Terrorism Committee, Professional Emergency Management Training Committee, and is Secretary of the Local Emergency Planning Committee. From this work he has developed a good understanding of city, county, state, and federal government. His areas of expertise include engineering, environmental concerns, and planning.



William (Bill) Brown graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in Business Administration. He spent the next thirty-five years serving in a number of managerial assignments with the Social Security Administration, including twenty-seven years as a District Manager. He has extensive experience in personnel management, labor relations, and organization and planning. He has also worked with several not-for-profit organizations in the Madison/Delaware County area.



Richard D. "Dick" Campbell worked 38 years for General Motors in the automotive electrical equipment manufacturing area. He served as Chief Engineer of Electronic Systems at Delco Electronics in Kokomo and as Director of Engineering and Business Unit Manager at Delco Remy in Anderson with responsibilities for operations in Mexico, France, Korea, and the United States. He is a Mechanical Engineering graduate of Purdue University and participated in the Program for Senior Executives at MIT. He currently works with the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, and is a past chairman of the Anderson SCORE chapter. His areas of expertise including engineering management, organization and planning, and lead-time reduction.



F. Allen "Al" Carpenter graduated from Anderson College (BA-Psychology, 1962) and the University of Missouri-Columbia (MS-Counseling Psychology, 1966). He served as Personnel Manager for the New Haven, Missouri plant of Kellwood Corp. for 1 1/2 years and joined Caterpillar, Inc. in 1967 as Plant Psychologist for the East Peoria Plant. He held various Human Resource positions within East Peoria Plant including developing and managing East Peoria Plant's alcohol and drug program for employees at all levels. In 1992 he became Personnel Consultant for Caterpillar's Transmission Business Unit where he was deeply involved in the development and implementation of a self-managed business team environment. Al Returned to Anderson when he retired from Caterpillar in 2001. Al's expertise includes most areas of human resources and manager development.



Willard A. "Bill" Christman graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Electrical Engineering and from Ball State University with an MS in Physics. He worked for Delco Remy Division of General Motors for twenty-five years in Process / Product Engineering and Manufacturing. Later, he was Supervisor of Manufacturing Computer Systems. He was employed by EDS as a Computer Facility Manager and Account Manager at Delco Remy. At EDS and then later at IBM, he was a Management Consultant for 12 years serving numerous corporations performing business transformations. He authored several published papers on management topics. His areas of expertise include productivity improvement, organizational effectiveness, integrated systems solutions, revenue / profit growth, workflow process design/implementation, strategic planning, IT assessment / selection, program management, cross-functional team building, change management, mergers / acquisitions, and right-sizing.



Roger Clark graduated from Ball State University with majors in Business and History. He worked for General Motors for thirty-seven years in maintenance, labor relations, and manufacturing. He has served on the Anderson Community Schools Board and on the Board of Directors of Visiting Nurses Association. Roger is presently active in Real Estate.



Lyle Crouse graduated from G.M.I. with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree and has advanced training from Ball State University, University of Chicago, and Goldratt Institute. Work experience has been 33 years with Delco Remy Division of GM, supervising and managing plant operations in Anderson, IN and start-up plants in Meridian and Laurel, MS. Also 5 years VP of Operations with a precision component supplier in Madison, WI. His areas of expertise are business planning, budgeting, lean manufacturing systems, root cause analysis, identification and solving constraints in operations and systems, material flow, and developing Win-Win solutions. Lyle is the Chairman of SCORE Chapter 519.



William (Tom) Cullop graduated from Purdue University (BS Civil Engineering) and Ball State University (MA, Business Administration). He has forty-four years of engineering and management experience in construction and facility management. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Indiana. He has experience implementing utility and facility expansions in US and Mexico. He has forty-one years of engineering and management experience with Guide (GM & Guide Corporation) in the following areas: maintenance foreman, engineer, engineering supervisor, plant engineer, and director of facilities. His areas of expertise include engineering and project management, project planning, and facility management.



Anila Din received a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and a Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University. She serves as and Adjunct Professor of Business Administration and Economics at Ivy Tech State College at Anderson. She has worked in banking, marketing, and management, and has worked for the United Nations World Food Program in Kenya. Anila's areas of expertise include business management, marketing, and human resource management.



Karl Grady graduated from General Motors Institute with a degree in Business Administration and received a Master's Degree in Business Management from Ball State University. He served for 42 years in various accounting and financial positions with General Motors. At the same time he operated a small tax and accounting business, dealing with individuals and small businesses. For the last decade he has worked for several small businesses as operations manager and as controller. He has been treasurer of Habitat for Humanity of Madison County for the last seven years. His areas of expertise include accounting, finance, business planning, budgets, and financial planning.



Mary C. Hall graduated from Holy Cross Central School of Nursing in Notre Dame, IN and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Arts from St. Joseph's College in North Windham, Maine. She earned an MS degree in Management from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is retired after 33 years with General Motors where she held various nursing positions including Regional Health Administrator of the Central Southwest region. She served on the board of directors of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses, and the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses, INC., the national board which provides certification of occupational health nursing. Her fields of expertise include medical and management.



Tom Harbron received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in electrical engineering from Iowa State University. He is Professor Emeritus of Computer Science from Anderson University, having retired in 1999 after serving for thirty-eight years. For twenty-seven of those years, he also was Director of the Anderson University Computing Center. He has served as a consultant to many businesses and universities on technical and organizational matters. His areas of competence include computer and communication systems.



Charlie Jones was born and raised in Portland, Indiana. He is a 1954 graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Business Administration. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and was owner/operator of Gedge Bros. wholesale heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration business for 31 years from which he retired in 1997. Charlie is past Chairman of SCORE Chapter 519.



Martha (Marty) L. Kettron worked 36 years for Delphi Interior & Lighting (former Guide Lamp Division) of General Motors. During those years, she worked as a secretary in many areas including Public Relations, Engineering, and Manufacturing. She graduated from Ball State University Two-Year Curriculum of Secretarial Science and had additional business study at Ball State. Early in her career, she worked in retailing at Kirkman's Jewelry and Gifts in Anderson and as a private secretary at Warner Machine Products in Muncie. For 11 years, she was involved in record keeping and operations of family farms. For a number of years, she was active in several organizations in Anderson. She is currently active in the Madison County Historical Society. Her areas of expertise are agriculture (certified organic farming), public relations, and manufacturing.



DeWayne Landwehr graduated from General Motors Institute with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He subsequently received a Master's Degree in Business Management from Ball State University and successfully completed studies in Financial Planning. He worked most of his 36-year career at Guide Division, but also had assignments at Automotive Safety Engineering at the GM Technical Center, and with Delphi as a Systems Engineer. Following retirement from General Motors, he established a tree farm and a wood products business. He currently serves as board chair of the Madison County Red Cross. His areas of expertise include technical staff management, strategic planning, problem analysis, program management, and product development.



Bob Schuler graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. In almost 33 years with General Motors he spent 12 years in product engineering at Guide Division where he received several patents for electronic and optical devices. The remaining 21 years were spent in managing plants in Dayton, Mexico, Grand Rapids, MI. and Columbus Ohio. His areas of expertise include organization development, team building, statistical process control, lead-time reduction, inventory management, "Kizan" budgets, union/management relations and Just In Time manufacturing. He has done graduate work at Ball State University. Bob served for ten years as a Director of the United Way of Madison County. He is a member of the Anderson Noon Kiwanis, and is past Chairman of SCORE Chapter 519. He is presently a member of the City of Anderson Board of Public Works.



Patricia J. Short attended Butler University. She was the owner and manager of Notre Dame Book Shelf from 1972 through 1999. She has experience with inventory management, budgeting, and general management. She is a member of St. John's Victoria Guild Board. Her areas of expertise include retail and business.



James D. (Jim) Strietelmeier received a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Franklin College and has studied at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. His banking career began in 1959 and he rose to become President of The Columbus Bank and Trust in Columbus, Indiana 1976 - 1986. He has also been owner of L&N Surgical Supplies, President of Citizens Bank & Trust Company 1988 - 1996, and Senior Vice-president of Star Financial Bank 1997 - 2003. He continues to serve on the Board of Directors of Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance and Star Financial Bank. He is Past Chairman of the Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce and is past Chairman and board member of Community Hospital of Anderson. His areas of expertise include financial planning, budgeting, cash flow analysis, business management, and accounting.



Freddie Thurman worked for General Motors for 29 years. In this time he worked as a Supervisor, General Supervisor, Plant Superintendent and General Superintendent of Manufacturing. He also was the first Supervisor of EEO and he worked in Personnel Records and Labor Relations. Freddie's expertise is in all areas of manufacturing, labor relations and personnel. Freddie is very involved in community activities and is a member of the board of several Anderson organizations.



Gene Paul Wright graduated from GMI with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and later earned a Master of Science in Engineering from Purdue University. In his 44 year career with GM, Gene worked in almost every position in Product Engineering and Design. He was involved in all phases of design, testing, development budgeting and management. In addition, Gene served 8 years as clerk-treasurer of the town of Edgewood and was involved in supervision, budgeting, and various activities of town management. Gene's areas of expertise include management, government relations including patent application and regulations, and finances.



G. Eugene "Gene" Yates returned to Indiana in 1946 after a stint as a paratrooper. He received a BS in Accounting from the University of Ohio and worked for three years as an internal auditor of a construction company. He also spent three years as Comptroller of Howe Fire Apparatus Co. He then worked 32 years with First Savings in Anderson, retiring as President and CEO. He also served on the Commission of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutes for 15 years and was its Chairman for the last 10 years. Among Gene's areas of expertise are financial analysis, general cost accounting, budget and records keeping, credit and collections, finance and public relations. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurses Association.



Deanna Young spent 38 years working in various financial institutions in many positions. She was supervisor of the bookkeeping department at The Union Bank and Trust in Kokomo, Indiana. At the time of her retirement, Deanna was Vice President, Quality Service Coordinator and Training for The Star Financial Banks. Deanna's expertise includes all areas of banking, accounting and business systems quality. Deanna owns a mini health spa and serves as Coordinator of Patient Services for her husband's medical practice.
